Another holiday plea ~ please do not go on these Santorini donkey rides, regardless of whether you are ‘podgy’ or slim tourists ~ the friction, heat & ill fitting tack are going to cause these wounds & they are HORRIFIC

Injuries and wounds are said to be common among the animals

Looks amazing doesn’t it ~ but at what cost to these willing little donkeys

The donkeys are made to climb the 568 steps in fierce heat

It is claimed the donkeys are worked into the ground before being discarded

The donkeys make the trek up and down four to five times a day
