That’s what happened to one opossum that was brought in to the Riverside County Animal Services by someone who originally thought he was picking up a dead animal. Even with the arrows in its body, the animal was very much alive.
I have messaged Riverside County Animal Services, this is what they said
We safely removed the arrow and then transported the critter to a rescue organization and it stayed there for the duration of its life in a sanctuary. It has since (recently) died. They only live to be about 3 years old, sometimes 4.
