This is a book in which you become a ‘rescue hero’. Simply turn the transparent page and rescue the animals! It’s fun, it’s simple and it’s a gentle introduction to the importance of animal welfare. There are no words in this book so you can choose the words which are right for you.
“If you like Animal Rescue, then hopefully you will also like the forthcoming Planet Rescue.
Planet Rescue is relevant for any teacher, parent and environmental group who want to teach young children about respecting and working towards a greener planet in an interactive and fun way! It supports clear environmental goals such as clean air, clean and plentiful water, thriving plants and wildlife, sustainability and minimising waste. It’s a book full of clear, colourful illustrations, fun little details and a diverse range of characters.
Just as with Animal Rescue, this new book is simple but cleverly-executed. Between each spread there is a transparent page which, when turned from right to left, magically transforms the action underneath. Each transformation highlights a benefit to our environment such as taking the car off the road and placing it back in the garage. The simplicity of this action is immediate and gives the child a sense of empowerment as if they have actually made it happen!
To print this book, however, Patrick George and Ann Scott have turned to Kickstarter to raise the funds. Meeting the ever-increasing production costs (which always have to be paid well in advance of publication), presents a financial challenge for the indie duo, so they are asking people to support their campaign by pledging £10 to pre-order a copy now. (Signed copies and other rewards are available too). They need to make 100% of their target in order to proceed. For more information on the book and how to pledge, here is the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/patrickgeorge/planet-rescue-book
The campaign ends on 28 March.”
