I don’t watch Jane McDonalds programmes, but I heard the programme promoted elephant rides, it doesn’t really surprise me that she doesn’t have a problem with this, HOWEVER I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing when Martin Clunes also decided it was a good idea to go for an elephant ride, I REALLY thought he was better than that, you know being a Born Free Foundation patron who says ‘I like to do whatever I can for Born Free whenever I am asked. I love the Born Free Foundation it steps in wherever there’s an animal facing cruelty, abuse or unfairness of any kind… any animal in any place. It’s a truly unique resource for wildlife conservation with a knowledge base built on years of work in the field in so many countries with so many different species. You should love it too.’
And he is right Born Free Foundation & Will Travers do not agree with elephant rides, so it begs the question, is the £ more important to Martin than ethics.
It may seem like the experience of a lifetime, but for the elephant who has been taken from mum at a very young age, beaten & broken, chained & stabbed with a bull hook for the rest of it’s life, often ending up blind with both mental & physical issues, it’s the thing nightmares are made of !!
PLEASE ~ PLEASE ~ PLEASE
do not ride elephants, visit ethical, true sanctuaries, if you need help finding GOOD places, please do not hesitate to contact me, I am sure I shall be able to find out the best places to visit & would be more than happy to do so.
DON’T PAY FOR THEIR ABUSE & SUFFERING !!
