SOUTH AFRICAN TROPHY HUNTING INDUSTRY PEDDLE THEIR SORDID WARES IN CHINA.
At this moment in Shanghai China, proponents and members of South Africa’s canned lion industry- including PHASA and their president Dries Van Coller – are out in force at the China Hunting Show. They are attempting to lure middle-income Chinese citizens to come to South Africa to support and prop up the indefensible trophy hunting trade.
In China guns are forbidden, but Clayton Fletcher’s Tinashe Safaris says they can make sure that any Chinese ‘hunter’ is certified competent to shoot within a 2 day period.
The Imberba Rakia South Africa Safari brochure being distributed at the show states: Leopard, lion, elephant, rhinoceros, and tiger can be hunted depending on availability, permission and exporting laws. Price depends on these conditions.
Inkulu African Safaris in the Eastern Cape are advertising a Black Rhino hunt for between 0.5 million and 1 million Euros.
Jorika Prinsloo from Wild Wildebeest Safaris is offering a seven day hunt that includes a male and a female lion.
The Zimbabwe government is also there, represented by the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority. Every animal under the sun, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, hyena (even tuskless elephants) are being advertised as available to be hunted. This is not a surprise given their virulent pro-sustainable use policy which is literally translating into unchecked killing and trading.
More information will be posted as it is received.
THE SOUTH AFRICAN PUBLIC SHOULD BE OUTRAGED ! Our wildlife is being sold without any remorse. All to make a few people very very rich.
